Part-Time Salary

As Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to prepare cost estimates and plans, audit projects, manage construction revenue and costs and administer construction contracts.

Key Responsibilities

Measurements of drawings
Preparing Bill of Quantities
Pricing of Bill of Quantities received from PQS
Review data to determine material and labour requirements and prepare an itemised list
Call for and analyse tenders and / or quotations
Maintain an up-to-date measure of the value of work done
Produce monthly valuations / certifications
Validate, agree and sign-off on final accounts with PQS and sub-contractors
Measure extras and Variation Orders
Measure sub-contract work
Monitor Certificates and collect monthly payments according to due date and report to Director
Prepare timeous, accurate and up-to-date budget and cash flow forecasting for Director
Peruse contract documentation and ensure own and subordinate understanding thereof
Liaise with the Senior QS / Contracts Manager regarding contractual requirements and ensure full compliance thereto
Liaise with the Senior QS / Contracts Manager regarding the commercial strategy that must be followed in respect of the contract and its requirements
Undertake the evaluation of suppliers and material supplies for selection and recording of preferred suppliers on the approved supplier list
Place bulk orders in liaison with Contracts Manager
Place sub-contract and labour only sub-contract orders and agreements
Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reports for reconciliation of trades (cost vs. allowable)
Prepare monthly Profit & Loss reports for P & G reconciliation spread sheet

Skills, Experience & Education

At least 5 yearsâ€™ experience in the construction industry
BSc (QS) or NDip (QS)
